WHAT IS A CHAPTER?

A Cure Little Hearts chapter is an essential part of our non-profit, comprising dedicated individuals who are committed to supporting young cancer patients during their most challenging battle. Whether a chapter consists of just six members or 50, each group plays a vital and significant role in advancing Cure Little Hearts' mission. Chapters can take many forms, such as a school club, a local community initiative, or even a statewide program.

It's important to distinguish between a chapter and a project. While both aim to achieve a common goal with the support of a group, chapters involve a long-term commitment to nurturing strong relationships with team members, volunteers, stakeholders, and pediatric cancer care centers. Chapters are expected to foster these connections to make a lasting, localized impact that furthers the Cure Little Hearts mission.

Additionally, by contributing your time and effort, you'll be able to earn valuable service hours, making a real difference in the lives of children facing cancer.

Setting up Your Chapter

To begin setting up your chapter, if you're starting with a school chapter, it's important to first gain approval from the school leadership before submitting your registration application with Cure Little Hearts (CLH). Once your school is on board, you can proceed with applying to officially register your CLH chapter.

After the registration process, you will be invited to an interview with our executive team to ensure your chapter is aligned with our mission and goals. Next, appoint your chapter's officers, taking into account the responsibilities each role will hold. It's important to organize all the necessary forms required to maintain the chapter, including keeping track of deadlines such as when your annual budget form needs to be submitted.

With these foundations in place, start planning the specific goals your chapter will work toward and brainstorm ideas for potential events and fundraisers. Finally, recruit new members and partners to support your chapter's efforts and ensure its long-term success.
